UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.
Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.
And we never give up.
For every child...
Out of 169 countries ranked on the Human Development Index 2016, Haiti is placed at 168. This ranking considers development indicators such as life expectancy at birth, knowledge and education and standard of living. In a context of humanitarian needs and poverty it is difficult to get messages about development across. Massive media messaging, various interventions by different organizations often with lack of coordination and overlapping mandates risk to fail if they do not mobilize the individual for the core purpose of child rights in action
How can you make a difference?
In line with the new Country Program 2017-2021 the UNICEF Haiti country office will produce a new country-wide communication and advocacy strategy, for internal and external use. To ensure global oversight and backup support it was decided to engage an experienced consultant to facilitate a strategic communication workshop and compile the outputs that will result from this exercise to a comprehensive strategy framework. Complementarity should be ensured between Communication/Advocacy and Communication for Development (C4D).
The consultant will produce an operational communication and advocacy strategy that covers UNICEF's priorities in Haiti, and is in synch with UNICEF's overall communication orientations at headquarter level.
The work of the consultant involves four steps, one building on the other: S/he will:
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
For every Child, you demonstrate…
