Head of Finance, Haiti (m/f)

in Port-au-Prince

The position is to be filled by November 01, 2018 with an initial contract duration of 2 years. Employment location will be Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

The aim of the position is to implement existing financial management standards in the programmes and projects efficiently and promptly, thereby making a significant contribution towards the success of the programme work

Your responsibilities

  • Checking and supporting budget planning and adjustment of the projects (own and donor funds)
  • Checking and follow-up of partner agreements taking into account the capacity of the partners and the donor regulations
  • Ensuring costs are cleared internally within a project (appropriate allocation of costs)
  • Supervising the financial administration of the country office and all measures to re-finance the Country Office, reporting to the Head Office and medium-term financial planning
  • Supporting Project Office implement projects according to co-financing agreement and Welthungerhilfe standards

Your profile

  • A university/university of applied sciences degree or a comparable specialised qualification suitable to the position, for example additional specialst knowledge in the fields of accounting and controlling.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant working experience
  • A high level of mental and physical resilience and readiness to travel to areas with volatile local conditions
  • Excellent coordination and organisational skills, including ability to work under pressure
  • Co-operation and team skills
  • Motivated and willing to take the initiative (determination), competent in intercultural communication, good negotiating skills
  • Fluency in French and in English, ability to communicate in Spanish
