Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti/Kore Timoun aims to improve health and wellness of children under 5 through community based prevention and management of malnutrition in Léogâne, Haïti. Our programs promote nutrition in both rural and urban communities through education, maternal child health, community empowerment, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
The Nutrition Fellow works with a strong team both in Haiti and Chattanooga, TN, to help fulfill the vision, mission and activities of the Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti (CNP)/Kore Timoun. S/he is primarily responsible, with support and supervision from the Executive Director, for ensuring that the objectives and responsibilities outlined below are accomplished and meet the highest professional and ethical standards.
The Nutrition Fellowship focuses on improving nutrition in children under five through our community programs. Working together with the Programs Manager and monitrices (community health workers), the Fellow will support growth monitoring and Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) throughout the commune of Léogâne. Additionally, the Nutrition Fellow’s work will help build capacity and partnerships with local actors and resources to maximize our impact.
The Nutrition Fellow is based in Léogâne, Haiti, and reports to the Country Director. This position will require a minimum of 40 hours a week Monday through Friday with occasional weekends. Office hours for fellows are between 8:00am and 4:30pm, with flexible hours in the field.

Core Objectives & Responsibilities
Project Development & Management• Work closely with program staff and monitrices to ensure every child in the program receives regular home visits, screening, and referrals • Identify unmet needs for nutrition and maternal child health (MCH) in the region • Develop projects utilizing evidence based interventions to improve nutrition and MCH • Seek new funding opportunities and strategic partnerships • Collect data for monitoring and evaluation
Health Promotion• Develop health education materials and curriculum about nutrition, breastfeeding, WASH and more • Provide training to monitrices and community health groups • Support on-going activities

**Fellow is responsible for providing travel to Haiti, health insurance, and any personal expenses that are incurred **
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s in public health, international development, or a clinical field preferred. Previous experience in health promotion, program development, and project management. Proficient in French and/or Creole desired.
Length of Commitment: 12 months
