The objective of UNICEF’s Better Business for Children Initiative is to guide stakeholders across business, government and industry in positioning children’s rights in the heart of business practice and policy in the Workplace, at the Marketplace and within the Community and Environment towards the achievement of progressive impact at scale. In the current Country Programme for Serbia, UNICEF will continue to play an active role in promoting and advancing child rights within the business sector centered on the Business Principles and Children’s Rights.
UNICEF has developed a global set of tools, including generic child rights and sustainability tools, ICT tools and Children Rights and Business Atlas, that companies can use to improve their policies and processes vis-a-vis child rights. In collaboration with the business networks and representatives of different industries (ICT, Finance, Food), UNICEF Serbia will conduct orientation sessions to facilitate business sector on advancing children’s rights with business to companies in order to help them review different aspects of representing and supporting children’s rights that simultaneously generate benefits for business.
UNICEF Serbia expects that business sector demonstrates further interest and commitment to promote child focused CSR and increased concern to improve the wellbeing of children by addressing child rights in its business practices.
Work Assignment Overview:
The consultant is required to provide necessary expertise support in covering UNICEF Serbia engagement related to corporate social responsibility focused on children. The consultant will facilitate training sessions to different business sector networks with the objective to develop their capacities on how they could review the existing business practices and how they could improve the existing policies in order to create more child friendly work places.
Duration of the assignment: 1 September 2019 – 31 December 2019 (up to 15 work days)
Detailed task description:
Task:
Facilitate one-day trainings to specific business representatives (ICT, Marketing, Food and beverages) on the tools on children's rights and business principles. The training should be based on the existing tools developed by UNICEF. The modules include due diligence for companies, guidance on policy commitments and codes of practice, child rights impact assessments, corporate reporting and stakeholder engagement. The trainings should be segmented in accordance with the needs of the specific target industry and should include the information, instructions and recommendations on the following themes:
Deliverables:
Three trainings conducted to the representatives of ICT, Food and Marketing industries, with the written report for each training session. The report should include the recommendations on further collaboration between UNICEF and the respective industries.
Timeframe: 15 working days, three days for the preparation of the training, one for the execution and one day for the report writing.
